By installing or using FlyETA, you agree to these terms.
What FlyETA is
FlyETA is an informational aid for passengers. It reads your phone's own sensors and shows you what they report about the flight you are sitting in.
What FlyETA is not
It is not a navigation instrument, not an avionics system and not a safety device. Do not use it for flight planning, for navigation, or for any decision where being wrong matters. It is not certified for anything, and consumer phone sensors are not aviation-grade.
Readouts may be blank
FlyETA shows -- instead of a number whenever it does not have a measurement - no satellite fix, a sensor the phone does not expose, a lookup that returned nothing. That is the app working as designed: it will never fill a gap with an estimate that looks like a fact. Values it does show come from your phone and carry that phone's accuracy, which varies with where you are sitting and what the cabin is made of.
Use it only where it is allowed
Use FlyETA only where the airline and the crew permit electronic devices, and follow their instructions over anything the app says. Airline policy and the law of the country you are flying in come first - that is your responsibility, not ours.
No warranty
FlyETA is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy. We do not promise it will be available, error-free, or right about anything.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising out of your use of FlyETA - including a missed connection, a wrong estimate, or a lost flight recording. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent, or for gross negligence. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
Your recordings are yours
Flight files belong to you. They stay on your phone, and we claim no rights over them. Keeping a backup of anything you care about is up to you - deleting the app deletes them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Austria, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection law of the country you live in.
Changes and contact
These terms may change; the effective date above says when they last did, and continuing to use the app means the current version applies. Questions go to support@flyeta.app.
