Good to know
Real measurements need a real signal. Here’s what to expect in the cabin.
Yes. Tracking, maps and recording work without mobile data or cabin Wi-Fi. Your phone still needs satellite reception. Flight-number lookup uses the internet during setup; choosing airports by hand skips that request.
Reception varies with your phone, aircraft and seat. A window seat gives your phone a better view of the sky. If reception drops, missing measurements show --. Recording can continue with the screen locked, but it cannot recover measurements the phone did not receive.
FlyETA supports iPhone and cellular iPad with iOS 15 or newer. Wi-Fi-only iPads do not have the satellite receiver needed for tracking. The Android app is in review on Google Play and will be available soon.
No. Recordings stay on your device, with no account or analytics. Flight-number lookup contacts online services during setup. You can skip it by choosing your airports manually.
Install it before you board, set your route at the gate, then follow your ETA in airplane mode.
